Tuesday, 7 January 2025 The Telangana high court dismissed BRS working president KT Rama Rao's challenge against the FIR in the Formula E race case, allowing the investigation to proceed. Following this, the Enforcement Directorate issued new summons for KTR to appear before them on January 16.
K. T. Rama Rao (KTR), the Working President of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and Sircilla MLA, was summoned by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for questioning in connection with the Formula-E race case. However, his advocates were not permitted to accompany him, leading to his return from the ACB office. The investigation, which relates to allegations under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, and the Indian Penal Code, has sparked a legal dispute. KTR has challenged the procedural issues of the FIR and petitioned the Telangana High Court, urging that the summons be deferred until the court’s verdict. Meanwhile, ACB is set to issue fresh notices for further questioning.
