Telangana rations beer amid 'limited availability' ahead of Sankranti; here's why

United Breweries Ltd has suspended beer supply to Telangana due to owed payments and low state prices. The Telangana Beverages Corporation Ltd and excise department have started rationing beer stocks to depots. Currently, there's only 12 lakh cases available, impacting the festive season. The government is working on paying the Rs 2,500 crore pending dues to liquor companies.
