Security forces kill 3 Naxals in an encounter in Chattisgarh's Bijapur district
Sunday, 12 January 2025 At least three Naxalites have been killed in an encounter with security forces on Sunday in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district, said Bijapur Police. The security personnel have also recovered several automatic and other weapons and explosives.
Chhattisgarh Naxal Encounter: In a major anti-Naxal operation, security forces in Chhattisgarh's Bastar division neutralized 22 Maoists in two separate encounters. The first gunfight took place in the dense forests along the Bijapur-Dantewada border, where 18 Maoists were killed. Another encounter in Kanker district led to the elimination of four more insurgents. A District Reserve Guard (DRG) jawan was injured in the operation. Weapons and explosives were recovered from the sites. Union Home Minister Amit Shah hailed the success, reaffirming the government's commitment to a ‘Naxal-Mukt Bharat’ (Naxal-free India).
