‘Mystery illness’ kills 2 more from Rajouri’s Badhaal village
Tuesday, 14 January 2025 Authorities remain perplexed by a mysterious illness that has caused 14 deaths in Badhaal village, J&K's Rajouri district since December, with four siblings dying recently. Only one family and their relatives have been affected. Experts from the National Centre for Disease Control and Institute of Epidemiology are set to investigate.
Heavy snowfall and landslides have disrupted traffic across Jammu and Kashmir, leading to the closure of the Srinagar-Jammu and Srinagar-Ladakh highways. Several districts, including Rajouri, Doda, and Anantnag, are covered in thick snow. Authorities have issued an avalanche alert in Himachal’s Lahaul-Spiti region. While daily life is affected, farmers have welcomed the fresh snowfall. Weather conditions are expected to improve by the afternoon.
