Government plans annual and life-time toll passes for pvt cars plying on NHs
Wednesday, 15 January 2025 The highways ministry plans to introduce annual and life-time passes for private cars, allowing unlimited travel on NHs with a one-time toll payment. With private cars contributing only 20-26% of toll revenue despite being 60% of NH traffic, the initiative aims to provide relief to commuters and streamline toll collection.
The Government has set out plans to divert up to two million patients from NHS waiting lists by the end of next year. Secondary Care Minister, Karin Smyth spoke about how the scheme which allows family doctors to seek advice from specialists before referring patients will be expanded with the support of an £80 million funding package.
