'Mystery illness' claims another life; death toll 16 since Dec

With 16 fatalities reported in Badhaal village, Rajouri district since December 2024, J&K CM Omar Abdullah has called for expedited investigations into the mysterious illness. Despite extensive testing by health authorities and national institutes, the cause remains unidentified. Five siblings among the affected have died, and authorities have sealed affected homes and relocated residents under strict monitoring.
