Supreme Court: Can't slap abetment charge mechanically to harass accused

The Supreme Court of India expressed concerns over the misuse of Section 306 IPC about abetment to suicide. It emphasized that prosecuting agencies should not mechanically frame charges and highlighted the importance of intentional instigation for applying this law. The court advised both investigating agencies and trial courts to exercise caution and follow the law to prevent untenable prosecutions.
