CM Himanta Biswa Sarma: Dibrugarh to be Assam's second capital

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that Dibrugarh will become the state's second capital within three years. A permanent assembly building will be established, and an annual assembly session will be held starting in 2027 to distribute administrative functions. The announcement was made during Republic Day celebrations in Dibrugarh.
