Health officials in Jaipur confirm four cases of Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS), all patients receiving treatment at SMS Hospital. Investigations are underway to determine if undercooked poultry or unpasteurised milk contaminated with Campylobacter jejuni bacteria is the cause. Enhanced farm biosecurity has been recommended, as cooking and pasteurisation effectively eliminate the bacteria from food items.
