30m stretch 'sinking', night traffic banned on key Uttarakhand national highway

A 30m stretch of the Almora-Haldwani highway is continuously sinking, posing extreme risks with falling boulders and debris from upper hills. Due to these dangers, a night-time traffic ban has been imposed until Feb 17 to ensure commuter safety. The recent instability in the terrain has significantly disrupted connectivity in Kumaon.
