Cheetah Veera gave birth to two cubs at Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh, increasing the cheetah population to 26, including 14 cubs. Chief minister Mohan Yadav praised the efforts of the team behind the cheetah project, noting that the growing population is boosting tourism and creating employment. In 2022, Prime Minister Modi released eight Namibian cheetahs at Kuno, marking the first intercontinental translocation of cheetahs to India after their extinction seven decades ago.
