Hyderabad techies ‘donate’ Rs 110 crore to political parties, claim rebates & take back donation

IT professionals in Hyderabad are under scrutiny by the I-T department for falsely claiming political donations to secure tax refunds. An investigation revealed a Rs 110 crore refund scam involving techies from 36 companies. Fraudulent deductions under Section 80GCC are being cracked down, with plans to reassess returns from 2021-22 to 2023-24.
