Isro to construct groynes at Sriharikota to prevent shoreline erosion

Isro is building groynes and conducting beach nourishment to protect Sriharikota shoreline from erosion caused by climate change. A 3km stretch is at various stages of erosion, and 150m lost in 50 years. The project aims to reclaim 20m-30m of shoreline safeguarding launch pads and natural ecosystems, including a freshwater lake.
