31 Maoists, two securitymen die in fierce Bastar gunbattle
Sunday, 9 February 2025 At least 31 Maoists and two security personnel were killed in a clash in Chhattisgarh's Bastar. Over 650 security forces launched a coordinated operation, recovering bodies and capturing weapons. Union home minister Amit Shah applauded the forces, promising to eradicate Naxalism by March 2026. Chhattisgarh Naxal Encounter: In a major anti-Naxal operation, security forces in Chhattisgarh's Bastar division neutralized 22 Maoists in two separate encounters. The first gunfight took place in the dense forests along the Bijapur-Dantewada border, where 18 Maoists were killed.
