Monitoring China dam on Brahmaputra, govt tells Rajya Sabha

The Indian government is monitoring China's plans for a hydropower project on the Brahmaputra river in Tibet and taking measures to protect its interests. Discussions with China occur through an expert-level mechanism and diplomatic channels to ensure downstream states are not adversely affected. Impact assessments on major tributaries in North-East India are also being conducted.
