No leniency to convict for ‘digital rape’ of 2-year-old: Delhi court

IndiaTimes Tuesday, 18 February 2025 ()
A Delhi court sentenced a man to 25 years for aggravated sexual assault on a two-year-old girl. The court rejected arguments for leniency based on the type of penetration, emphasizing that the law makes no such distinction. The convicted man was also ordered to pay Rs 13.5 lakh to the victim, aiming for retribution and rehabilitation.
