Maharashtra minister Manikrao Kokate, brother get 2 years’ jail in 1995 EWS housing cheating case

NCP's state agriculture minister Manikrao Kokate and his brother Vijay were sentenced to two years' rigorous imprisonment for securing flats under the economically weaker section quota by falsifying income documents. The court also fined them Rs 50,000 each and directed authorities to cancel the flat allotments. Both plan to appeal the conviction.
