Can’t collect toll if road in bad shape, says J&K HC; cuts fee at 2 NH-44 plazas
Wednesday, 26 February 2025 () The J&K and Ladakh high court has ruled that NHAI or its concessionaire cannot collect toll tax from commuters if a highway is in bad shape due to construction activities. The court ordered NHAI to collect only 20% toll at Lakhanpur and Bann toll plazas and directed the removal of any toll plazas within 60 km of NH-44 within two months.

J&K Breaking: Terrorists opened fire on an Indian Army vehicle near the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district, Jammu and Kashmir. The attack took place in Phal village, Sunderbani sector, a known infiltration route for militants.
Troops immediately retaliated, and reinforcements were rushed to the area. A cordon and search operation has been launched to track down the attackers.
This incident comes just hours after the BSF neutralized an intruder attempting to cross the International Border (IB) in Pathankot. Security forces remain on high alert amid increasing cross-border infiltration attempts.
