Varanasi to close meat and fish shops during Navratri
Friday, 28 March 2025 () The Varanasi Municipal Corporation decided to shut all meat, fish, and poultry shops within its limits during the Chaitra Navratri festival, starting Sunday, despite the coincidence with Eid. The ban emphasizes respecting the sacredness of Navratri for Hindus and will be strictly enforced. Additionally, cigarette sales near religious places and schools are also prohibited.
