Rs 39K crore investment promise: UP’s liquor industry on a high

Uttar Pradesh retained its top position in excise revenue with a record Rs 52,297 crore in 2024-25, a 15% increase from the previous year. The state signed MoUs with 137 companies for investments worth Rs 39,708 crore in the excise business and introduced composite liquor shops to boost revenues.
