Work generated under NREGS in ’24-25 less than ’23-24 numbers

In the financial year 2024-25, the MGNREGA job scheme generated over 288 crore persondays of work, less than 2023-24 but still above pre-pandemic levels. Experts suggest that the reduced budget allocation may have played a role in controlling work demand despite signs of rural distress improvement.
