Lack of indoor toilets helped reduce rural Covid toll: NCCS-Pune study

A study by Pune's National Centre for Cell Science found that indoor plumbing and closed drainage systems in cities likely facilitated the household spread of SARS-CoV-2. This may explain higher Covid mortality in urban areas, compared to rural regions where open sanitation systems are common.
