Gurgaon mayor’s election fought on ‘fraudulent caste cert’ under HC lens

The Punjab and Haryana High Court has issued a notice to the Haryana government regarding the election of Raj Rani Malhotra as mayor of the Municipal Corporation Gurgaon. Allegations state that Malhotra fraudulently obtained a Backward Class Category-A certificate by falsely claiming to be from the 'Sunar' caste, while the petitioner claims she belongs to the Jat community.
