Chamoli weather alert: Road cleared after tree blocks traffic; Dr R Rajesh Kumar reviews Chardham Yatra prep
Friday, 11 April 2025 () The Chamoli Police on Thursday stated that the Nandprayag Sakot-Kothiyalsain road, which was blocked due to a fallen tree amid heavy rainfall, has been cleared and traffic restored thanks to the swift response of the fire service team.
A devastating avalanche struck Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district near Mana village, trapping 57 construction workers under snow. While 16 people have been rescued, 41 remain missing. The avalanche has blocked roads, delaying rescue efforts. ITBP, Army, SDRF, and NDRF teams are working tirelessly to reach the site. BRO officials confirm the area is inaccessible, with no mobile or radio connectivity. Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has assured all possible assistance. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation, as hopes remain high for further rescues.
