Can’t claim public space as right, no Hanuman Chalisa on road: Calcutta HC

The Calcutta High Court has disallowed a mass Hanuman Chalisa recital on Red Road. The Hindu Seva Dal's petition was rejected. Kolkata Police had suggested alternative locations. The court cited traffic concerns and public inconvenience. Previous Eid prayers had historical context. The Durga Puja carnival has a Unesco heritage tag.
