Concerned about the harm single-use plastic bags were causing to the environment, a group of organisations and individuals started the Bag Free World campaign, which is the driving force behind this effort, back in 2008. Their mission is to promote sustainable alternatives while increasing public awareness of the harmful consequences that plastic bags have on the environment, wildlife, and human health.
