Liquor and non-veg sales banned in Katra

The Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has banned the sale of liquor and non-vegetarian food for two months in Katra and surrounding areas. This ban aims to maintain the sanctity of the holy site visited by millions of devotees. Additionally, a new ropeway project, costing INR 300 crore, has been approved, reducing the Katra-Bhawan travel time to one hour.
