A study from Imperial College London examined over 26,000 UK Biobank participants, revealing that night owls have higher cognitive scores compared to morning larks. The research, published in BMJ Public Health, indicates that optimal brain function is achieved with 7-9 hours of sleep. Insomnia did not significantly affect cognitive scores, but improper sleep duration could damage brain performance.
