Why one should never offer Tulsi leaves to Shiva pariwar

Hindus make various offerings to their deities; however, they refrain from offering Tulsi leaves to Lord Shiva and his family. This practice stems from ancient legends involving a demon king, Jalandhar, his devoted wife Vrinda, and the curses that followed. Lord Ganesha's refusal of Tulsi’s marriage proposal also plays a part in this tradition.
