SpaceX’s Starship makes history with first-ever launch pad catch

SpaceX conducted a high-stakes test flight of its 400-foot Starship rocket, attempting to recover the first-stage booster with mechanical arms at the launch pad. After launch from Texas, the booster aimed for a return to the pad, while the spacecraft planned a splashdown in the Indian Ocean. Enhancements were made to software and the heat shield.
