The decision follows US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s refusal to deploy American troops as part of security guarantees to Kiev. Meanwhile, Poland has also dismissed the idea of sending its soldiers. UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, however, signaled willingness to contribute troops post-ceasefire. Moscow warns that any unauthorized foreign military presence will be treated as a “legitimate target,” while US-Russia talks on Ukraine continue in Riyadh.
