Spain tops France in classic for men's soccer gold
Friday, 9 August 2024 () Spain continued its long-running domination of international soccer in incredible fashion on Friday, claiming the men's Olympic gold medal with a frantic, frenzied 5-3 extra-time victory over France.
The captains of the French and Spanish men's Olympic football teams say they are gunning for the gold medal, on the eve of the final. Spain's Abel Ruiz describes the possibility as a "huge dream", while Franc's Alexandre Lacazette says "the fact that we're here is down to our belief."
