Sri Lanka has elected Anura Kumara Dissanayake, a prominent Marxist leader, as its new president amid ongoing economic challenges. Dissanayake, the head of the People’s Liberation Front (JVP), secured 42.31% of the vote in a historic election, becoming the country's 10th president.
