UK police to investigate treatment of England fans
Friday, 15 November 2024 Local police in Athens are said to have used riot shields and tear gas to control England fans before the Nations League fixture with Greece.
The crash happened just before midnight on 28 February, 2023, when a freight train and a passenger train crashed head-on on the line linking Athens with Thessaloniki, killing 57 people.

On Christmas Eve, hundreds of Greeks gathered outside Athens City Hall to release paper lanterns and make wishes. The annual event in Kotzia Square, overseen by Athens Mayor Haris Doukas, celebrated the cityβs spirit.
The Municipality of Athens organized the gathering.
