Bodies of six New Zealand volcano victims recovered
Friday, 13 December 2019 A New Zealand military team recovered six bodies on Friday from the volcanic island that fatally erupted earlier this week, in a high risk operation watched by dozens of grieving family members waiting on the mainland.
It is still too dangerous for rescue workers to recover bodies from the scene of the New Zealand volcano disaster, officials said on Wednesday. There is a 40% to 60% chance of a second eruption in the coming days, scientist Graham Leonard told a news conference in Wellington.
