150 dead as 'catastrophic' storm floods hit east Libya
Monday, 11 September 2023 More than 150 people have been killed in eastern Libya due to floods caused by storm "Daniel". The storm brought torrential rains to Turkey, Bulgaria, and Greece before hitting Libya. The floods resulted in mudslides, collapsed buildings, and submerged neighbourhoods. Hundreds of residents are still trapped in inaccessible areas, and rescue operations are ongoing.
