Thursday, 19 October 2023 British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak will visit Israel, where he will meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Isaac Herzog before traveling to other regional capitals. Sunak will express his condolences for the loss of life in Israel and Gaza and warn against further escalation of conflict. He will also call for the opening of a route to allow humanitarian aid into Gaza and the safe evacuation of British nationals. British Foreign Secretary James Cleverly will also travel to Egypt, Turkey, and Qatar to seek a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
