UN chief's Hamas remark draws Israel ire

Israeli officials expressed outrage over UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres' comments regarding the recent Hamas attack in southern Israel. Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen canceled a meeting with Guterres, while Israel's Holocaust memorial, Yad Vashem, accused the UN chief of failing the test. Israel's envoy to the UN, Gilad Erdan, called for Guterres' resignation and suggested reevaluating relations with the organization. Guterres clarified his remarks, stating that he condemned the acts of terror by Hamas and did not justify them.
