China has been supporting Myanmar's junta rule to deepen its influence in South Asia, according to a report. China's links to Myanmar's ruling establishment have been subject to scrutiny, with observers noting that while Myanmar is wary of Chinese influence, it is difficult for the government to sever ties due to China's deep penetration. China has invested over $113 million in Myanmar since the coup and has provided diplomatic support, loans, investments, and trade to keep the economy afloat. The Chinese presence in Myanmar is rooted in various sectors.
