On anniversary of deadly Halloween crush, South Korean families demand special probe

Families of the victims of last year's Halloween crush in Seoul demanded an independent investigation of the disaster as they marked the anniversary with a memorial service. The crush, one of South Korea's biggest peacetime disasters, killed 159 people. The families visited the area where the crush happened, laid flowers, and offered condolences. They also attended multi-faith prayer services and chanted slogans asking for a more sincere apology and the resignation of the Safety Minister. The families urged the president to support efforts to legislate a special law for an independent investigation into the disaster.
