New Zealand to ban cellphones in schools

New Zealand's conservative Prime Minister Christopher Luxon plans to ban cellphones in schools to address the country's declining literacy rates. Researchers from New Zealand charity Education Hub have warned of a 'literacy crisis' with over one-third of 15-year-olds struggling to read or write. Luxon aims to stop disruptive behavior and improve student focus by implementing a policy that has been tried in the United States, United Kingdom, and France.
