At COP28, Al Gore takes aim at host UAE's emissions
Sunday, 3 December 2023 Former US vice president and climate champion Al Gore and Climate TRACE, an emissions tracker, revealed satellite images of pipeline emissions at the COP28 talks in the UAE. Gore highlighted the UAE's 7.5% increase in greenhouse gas emissions in 2022 and exposed leaks from pipelines. Gore praised a pledge by 50 oil and gas companies, including ADNOC, to reduce methane emissions and emphasized the need to phase out fossil fuels for COP28 to be a historic success.
