Sunday, 3 December 2023 A magnitude 6.6 earthquake, followed by several strong aftershocks, hit Mindanao island, Philippines, triggering a tsunami alert. The earthquake occurred near Hinatuan municipality, the same area affected by a magnitude 7.6 quake the night before. Two people were killed in Bislig City and Tagum city, and several others were injured. There were no major damages reported, but cracked roads in Bislig City were observed. The earthquake also caused small swells in Japan's eastern Pacific coast.
