Zambia's president hopeful that trapped miners still alive

IndiaTimes Tuesday, 5 December 2023
Zambia's president remains hopeful as rescue efforts continue for at least 25 informal miners trapped in a mudslide at Seseli Mine. The mine was previously owned by Vedanta's Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) but is now under the control of a local company. The miners were trapped in three locations and heavy rains have flooded the pit. The government is working to save the lives of the trapped miners, with rescue workers being cautious due to soft ground.
