Fidel and Raul Castro's sister, who fled Cuba and worked with CIA, dies aged 90
Thursday, 7 December 2023 Juanita Castro, the younger sister of Cuban rulers Fidel and Raul Castro, who was a CIA informer and outspoken critic against their communist government, has died in Miami aged 90.
Julian Assange, WikiLeaks founder, has been freed from UK prison and will return to Australia after agreeing to plead guilty to one US charge. He'll be sentenced to time served (62 months) in Saipan. This ends a years-long legal battle that began with WikiLeaks' publication of classified US documents. The plea deal follows pressure on the US to drop charges, including from the Australian government.

Donald Sutherland, known for his roles in such films as 'M*A*S*H,' 'Ordinary People' and 'The Hunger Games,' has died. He was 88. The actor who worked six decades in Hollywood died Thursday in Miami after a long illness. One of his five children, actor Kiefer Sutherland, wrote on social media, "With a heavy heart, I tell you that my father, Donald Sutherland, has passed away. I personally think one of the most important actors in the history of film. Never daunted by a role, good, bad or ugly. He loved what he did and did what he loved, and one can never ask for more than that. A life well lived."
