Russia detains man it accuses of blowing up trains at Ukraine's behest

IndiaTimes Thursday, 7 December 2023
Russia's FSB security service detains a Belarusian man for blowing up two trains in Siberia on the orders of Ukrainian intelligence services as part of a sabotage campaign against Russia's critical infrastructure. The attacks occurred in Russia's Buryatia region on Nov. 29 and Nov. 30, targeting the Severomuysky Tunnel and the Chertov Bridge. The Belarusian man confessed to installing explosive devices on the trains, following instructions from a Belarusian based in Lithuania working for Ukraine. These attacks have caused temporary blockage of traffic amidst a series of sabotage attacks on Russian transport and infrastructure objects.
