Embattled Harvard president will submit dissertation edits after plagiarism allegations
Friday, 22 December 2023 Harvard's president, Claudine Gay, plans to correct citation errors in her 1997 dissertation after a plagiarism investigation. The investigation found inadequate citation but no research misconduct. Gay has already submitted corrections for two articles reviewed by Harvard Corporation. She will now submit three citation corrections to Harvard's Office of the Provost. Gay has faced pressure from donors and the Jewish community following her congressional testimony about antisemitism on campus. The University of Pennsylvania's president, Liz Magill, resigned on Dec 9.
