US strikes kill 10 Huthi rebels attacking ship in Red Sea

The US military announced that its Navy helicopters engaged Iran-backed Huthi rebel boats off the coast of Yemen. The rebels were reportedly attacking a cargo ship, and Yemeni sources confirmed the death of 10 rebels in the incident. This clash in the Red Sea represents a significant escalation since the establishment of a multinational naval task force by the United States in early December. The task force aims to safeguard the crucial shipping lane from Huthi threats. The Huthi rebels, claiming solidarity with Palestinians, have persistently launched drones and missiles at passing ships in the straits.
