Yegor had read a love poem before his arrest, and he denies the accusation of cheering an anti-war poem. The wedding is a testament to their young love in the midst of Russia's crackdown on freedom of expression. Nadezhda and other loved ones of political prisoners face difficulties in maintaining connections. Yegor and poet Artyom Kamardin were sentenced to prison for undermining national security and inciting hatred.
