Poland activates fighter jets amid intense Russia bombing on Ukraine

Amid intensified Russian bombardment in Ukraine, Poland activated fighter jets to protect its airspace following a Russian missile crossing into Polish territory. Russia launched a deadly missile attack on Ukraine, prompting Poland to activate its F-16 fighter jets. The Polish military suspected a Russian missile entered and left Polish airspace. In response, Poland summoned Russia's charge d'affaires for an explanation. Russia mounted another heavy missile and drone attack on Ukraine overnight into January 2, striking residential buildings and civilian infrastructure across the country
